Aircrack for Ubuntu

Aircrack for Ubuntu environment is very preferable than running Aircrack under your Backtrack 3. However , there’s no big difference between running Aircrack for Ubuntu and Aircrack for Backtrack 3. In this post , I wil give a short tutorial on Installing Aircrack on Ubuntu. Basically, Aircrack can be installed on Ubuntu thru source code installation. But since it will waste much of your time , why don’t you try Aircrack for Ubuntu that installed from the repository ? :)

Here’s what you actually need to do to install Aircrack for Ubuntu :

1. From your Ubuntu Desktop, go to System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager
2. Click Search, then type in “aircrack”
3. Click the checkbox next to “aircrack-ng”
4. Click the Apply button
5. Wait for Ubuntu to download and install AirCrack automatically for you
6. Look for the AirCrack icon under Applications > Internet

or just simply type this :

sudo apt-get install aircrack-ng

    I followed what you said about installing aircrack-ng from Synaptic manager

    but I couldn`t find it anywhere in my computer..especially as you mentioned in applications—^ Internet

    hi i have tried both methods and it still will not appear at the apps internet tab! i am pulling my hair out trying to run the aircrack-ng but it just doesn;t seem to work i have patched my drivers etc ….plz im a newbie!

    Fools,
    To install, simply follow the instructions above.

    If you use packet manager-when you hit CTRL + F you must have the “look in” drop down set to “name”, not “discription and name”
    That should solve any probs.
